Cancelling an Order

Effective from 22/10/2026

If you want to cancel an order, use the form at the end of this page. We confirm by e-mail straight away what you sent us and on which day and at what time we received it. The form is available at all times.

1. When you can cancel

Australian law gives no cooling-off period for an order you place online on your own initiative. The cooling-off period applies only to unsolicited consumer agreements negotiated by telephone or in person away from the seller's premises (sections 69 and 82 of the Australian Consumer Law), and we do not sell that way. A book and its audiobook are created individually for you straight after payment, so we do not accept their cancellation for a change of mind (Art. 7 of the terms and conditions).

You can cancel:

  • the purchase of a gift voucher, within 14 days of buying it and without giving a reason. This right comes from our terms (Art. 13), not from the law, and we keep to it. If you have already used part of the voucher, we refund the unused part of its value;
  • an order we have not supplied in time, that is, within the period stated in Art. 6 of the terms and conditions or, where no period applies, within a reasonable time;
  • an order where the product has a major failure (sections 259(3), 260 and 263, and for services section 267(3) of the Australian Consumer Law). For a failure that is not major, please use the Complaints Policy first and we will put it right;
  • an order you placed because of a misleading statement by us (sections 18 and 29 of the Australian Consumer Law).

We refund the amount paid within 14 days of your cancellation, to the card you paid with.

4. How to send it

  • Using the form at the end of this page.

All three ways are equally effective.

If your book is faulty, please make a complaint.

Required by law

Cancelling an order

You can withdraw from the contract right here — no letter, no explanation needed. As soon as you send the form, you'll receive a confirmation at the address you give us, with the full content of your withdrawal and the date and time you sent it.

One thing up front, so it doesn't catch you by surprise. For a book made to order to your specifications, and for a digital book whose creation began at your express request, there is no statutory right of withdrawal. Withdrawal mainly applies to a gift voucher that nobody has used yet. We'll always record your notice, and we'll always reply to it.
